annmarie + joe : 2009.2.28

Can you feel the love? I could, what a special couple.

This is an amazing story of referrals. Annmarie got my name from a previous client and told her friend Brenda to use me before she even met Joe.
Then Annmarie got engaged and my cousins wife Melissa recommended her to me.
Not necessary Melissa she already had my name! (thanks anyway)

Ronnie and I had such a blast and the weather held out just like we predicated.
I have to mention a bunch of my friends that helped today. Rosalba did Annmaries make up perfectly as usual.
If anyone needs her information please send me an email. She really is a true talent.
And of course Robert knowles, who I’m sure did an amazing job on the video.

Anyway on with the photos!

As I mentioned before Robert Knowles shot the video and already edited it! That has to be some kind of record. Anyway he posted a highlights reel to his blog and I snatched it off for mine. Annmarie did not have him at the house for the “getting ready” stuff so I provided him some of my photos for the beginning. Check it out!

danielle + rob : 2009.2.14

I learned through the maid-of-honor’s speech that a psychic predicted this wedding. But, in reality, being psychic had nothing to do with this prediction. All you need to do is be anywhere near Rob or Danielle and ask them about each other; the love is overwhelming!  Don’t believe me, ask any of the 200 guest that attended the ceremony. We all know that the ceremony is the most important part of the day, but it’s easily shadowed by the preparation for the party and not many guests make it to the church. Not this wedding. I will go out on a limb and say that there were more guests attending this ceremony then any wedding I have ever photographed!

These photos were such a pleasure to create for you guys and I’m so glad you asked my team to join you yesterday. It would be wrong if I didn’t mention the awesome staff of videographers at moving pictures.  Dave told me that he will be posting something awesome to his blog in the next day or so. Can’t wait!

Oh! the song for the slide show that I chose was Adele, “Hometown Glory.” Not exactly a love song, but I love it and Rob and Danielle live in the same town…so it works.

Enjoy!

joanna + ed : 2009.2.7

Joanna is by far the luckiest bride ever. Did you notice the weather for the week leading up to Feb 7th. It started at 14 degrees and climbed all the way up to 48, that’s amazing. Although I should say that Joanna planned on taking photos outdoors “no matter what.”

The house and church were both in the Bronx and that usually means we find a park near that but the reception was in long island and that opened up hundreds of options. We settled on the base of the Whitestone bridge. The park is Francis Lewis Park and it is awesome. It gives us spectacular backgrounds and a real urban edge. The great weather and park location made this an absolutely perfect day. I’m so happy for Joanna and Ed they are a wonderful couple! p.s. thanks Calista for giving Joanna my card!

house of cards

Since the beginning of my photographic career, I have been searching for unique business cards. I can’t stand poorly designed logos and business stationary. I am so lucky to have found what, I think, is the coolest business cards around.  Letterpress.  For those of you not familiar with letterpress stationary, it is a very heavy paper stock with the printing debossed into the paper, then inked. I found a company that has done many cards for photographers. Studio Z in California. Zida was an absolute pleasure to do business with and really helped with the final layout and design of the card. For all of you that really want a rare style invitation, I strongly recommend something letterpress. Seriously, you will never see anything like it. Don’t believe me stop by and pick up one of my new cards!!

When it came to photographing it, I certainly could not just take a simple picture!  I had to do something out of the ordinary. The fact that the cards are so thick made them perfect materials to build a house of cards!

After we were done, it was more fun to take it down! : )

from a different angle

I thought it would be really cool for everyone to see just how much goes into each photo we create. If we already shot your wedding then you know how we climb just about anything in our way to get the shot! So I made this sideshow; then after making it, I realize that maybe nobody cares to see how much fun and energy we put into each job? But it took me over an hour, so I’m showing it anyway!!
The bonus to all of this is you will get to see Ronnie’s hair go through many, many stages. How exciting! Its a little unfair actually, that he gets to have so many hair styles. However, that’s for another time involving me and a therapist!
Oh and why is Ronnie riding a duck and giving a lion pounds? I have no idea. : )
On with the show!
