Checking out some sites

Anthony and I decided to spend the day yesterday checking out some locations to shoot engagements and stuff. Originally it was going to be a simple thing and then Anthony had the idea to get someone to put their wedding dress back on and it kinda snowballed into this huge thing. We asked a good friend who is a make up artist, Angela Civale, if she could help us and of course she made herself available. (if anyone need and awesome make up artist shoot me an email I have her contact info.) After that I mentioned to Dave from moving pictures what we were doing and he offered to come and shoot a little promo video for anthony. So this little scouting trip turned into an outright photo shoot. Here are some of my favorites fron the day.

Oh yeah and I got to relive my days as an assistant, Anthony was lead camera on this shoot I was the reflector boy : )
Here are some of my favorites let us know what you think! Anthony loves comments!

One more thing, thanks to Chrissy, our very cooperative model. Like our brides, she didn’t question any crazy spot we asked her to stand in.

sue + mark | engaged

Kerrie and I shot these tonight in Battery Park City right near the World Trade Center site.
After getting kicked out by the security guards we snuck back in for just a few more.
The season is under way, man that was quick winter break.

This is part one of a two part engagement session. Stay tuned for the more edgy version of mark and sue!

BEST OF 2009 : the brides

So I decided to have three installments of the best of 2009, and Im kicking it off with the ladies! Here ya go this is MY selection for the best photo of each bride I shot in 2009. Tomorrow night I will post the best of couples and finally the crew recap. Enjoy.

Sunset Cove : Tarrytown

I was asked be the owners of Sunset Cove in Tarrytown to photograph the restaurant and executive chef today for their new website. Tommy (one of the owners) and I worked together at my uncles restaurant Alex and Henry’s in Eastchester in the early 90’s and we occasionally see each other at events and things. Most recently tommy was a guest at Lisa and Justins wedding where I showed one of my slide shows during dinner and he asked if I could help with a project he was working on. They redesigned the interior of sunset cove and wanted something different to show it off. We decided to shoot the kitchen staff hard at work and thought it would give a different look to the overdone restaurant interiors you always see on restaurant websites. I had a lot of fun with this shoot and wanted to share it. As soon as the weather warms up and your looking for some place to relax give sunset cove a shot (I’m sure most of you already have) you will love it. And yes I did shoot a simple interior today to show off the amazing view this restaurant has. Its actually right under the bridge. So amazing!

Engagement Sessions – best of 2009

I’m planning on a few slide show galleries for the small break before I start shooting weddings again.
My plans are a best of weddings and a crew working slide show they are both planned for later this month.

But first I want to have a little fun with the engagement sessions I did this past year. This will be a best of that I leave up to my faithful blog readers to choose. You guys pick the winning image, and the couple who’s image is selected gets a free canvas gallery wrap. (24×36). In order to be fair I selected one image from each session I shot. (if I left someone out please let me know)
