Coney Island
Yesterday, we went to Coney Island with Catherine’s father.
He grew up in Manhattan and spent every other day at Coney Island. He and his friends would ride the subway, “times were different then”. So Catherine and I thought it would be cool to take a ride out there with him and the girls to check it out.
Catherine wanted me to point out that she took most of the photos! I guess I would want the credit as well : )
happy mothers day cath
This day is very special for Catherine. Today she actually gets recognition for being an outstanding mother.
Catherine you truly are an amazing parent. Gretchen and Stella are so lucky to have you as a role model.
The love and care you give them goes unmatched. You’re a wonderful mother you should be proud.
I hope you enjoyed this special day.
any cinderella fans out there?
No not the 80’s hair band the Disney classic of course!
This weekend kicks off another huge year of weddings. My awesome team and I will photograph some of the coolest people in the tri-state area. We promise to make every one of you look like rock stars. And NOT 80’s rock stars, thank you!
This year presented some awesome opportunities for me. I’m lucky enough to photograph a friend of mine from kindergarten. Also, I will be working once again with the Balbi’s, Babcock’s, Tamucci’s and Sarbo’s. I photographed 6 weddings in these four families over the years and now, this year, the last of them are getting married. All together that’s 10 weddings in four families!!
We will be in the usual locations and some new locations like, Ashtabula, Ohio (that’s coming at the end of this month) and Cape Cod (in October). So faithful blog watchers prepare yourself for an awesome year in weddings and check back often, we kick it off this weekend in the newly renovated Venetian in Jersey! (hi Jackie)
Catching up
No weddings in March so this weekend I caught up on same family time and some projects that I started and never finished.
For starters my youngest sister Claudia’s son had a birthday party at the coolest place to have a kids birthday party. For those of you with no kids the whole birthday party thing in NY has gotten way out of control. I remember when the parties were at my parents house and a few of your friends came over for cake. Not anymore, now they are always an activity. Weather its an art studio or dance studio they are always a big event. My sister Claudia put a great spin on that. She rented out a Gymnastics studio and had some instructors set up a little obstacle course with trampolines and balance beams. Gretchen had a freakin blast. Here are some photos. Oh and one of the instructors was working on a routine that I had to photograph. I think you will be able to pick that picture out!
We will start things off with the birthday boy! Damn the Restiano’s make cute kids! (Sorry Mike you had a little something to do with it)
This is such a great photo. This is my oldest sister Alie. When I saw her doing a physical activity I knew I had to capture it. I dont think she ever made the blog, she going to kill me!! Lets see a double next time Alie!
Now here is the project that I started last fall. We have this wall in our house that stretches from the first floor where the kitchen is all the way up to the third floor living room. The architects that designed the house left the covering of that wall up to catherine and I but we could never agree on what to do. Finally catherine presented an idea that I loved. Old weathered barn siding. This wood is from Texas, yes Texas, we found it on “the google” : ) and had it shipped up to NY. The sales person could not believe that we could not find weathered barn siding up here, but truthfully we could not! So this is for all you people that don’t believe that I am good with my hands!
Thats little G’s room on the right. She loves elephants can you tell? What do you think is stella going to be pissed that here letter “S” is way smaller than the “G”?
You Cant tell but I’m about 20 feet up in the air.
